I've been playing on host 1 and 2 for some time now. As of yesterday I can't log into either of them. This is the message I keep getting which I never got before.
Please note that playing non-ladder games or against the bots on Host 3 is not allowed

I am not trying to log onto host 3 but it directs me there. When I try Host 1 where the lil java icon usually is there is an X. When i try Host 2 nothing happens at all. Anyone have any information it would be appreciated. I am going through withdraw. LOL.

Thanks, BOnnie

Hi again,
When I go to the above address (same one always used btw), there is nothing on the applet for Host 1 or Host 2--nowhere to login or anything--just a gray screen with the red x up in the left corner where the Java icon usually is. The status bar says "applet soc.client.SOCPlayerClient notinited". Host 3's screen works fine, but 1 and 2, nada, all day. Withdrawal is hard, eh?

Thanks for helping!

You might need to clear your cache.

Hi. I'm in the same boat. Have been playing for a couple of weeks now but as of this morning all I get is a little red X on Host 1 and Host 2 (Host 3 is fine). I have just tried clearing my temporary internet files directory, but no luck. Any other advice?

Thanks.
Somebody.
Bonnie
No luck with clearing the cache. Still can't get onto host 1 & 2.

Try a force refresh then. Hold the shift key and the refresh icon on your browser. I too have had the issue with Java not loading properly, in the past, and clearing cache or force-reset has helped.

No luck with the forced refresh either. It seems strange to me that this happened to all of us at the same time. Did anything change with the code at your end sometime last night or this morning?

Cheers,
Somebody.

Throw me in the same Server-3-only boat... strange ...

It appears that they have updated the program quite a bit. You will need to update to a later Java Runetime Environment. I'm not sure what the minimum is now, but that latest version worked for me. Just click on the link in the banner of the main page and go to Sun's page to install the JRE. Be sure to reboot and install the updates when you receive the baloon message. After taht you should be fine.

SnarkyBuzzard - if you haven't already done so, you may want to update the main page to reflect the new minumum. You may want to highlight it as well.

Hi. I installed the latest Java a couple of weeks ago. I checked today and the version has not changed (j2re1.4.2_12). Reinstalled anyway, but to no avail. Next suggestion?

Cheers,
Somebody.

Hi all... Under the tools menu of explorer there is a "Sun Java Console". When I open that up, here is the log (Settlers error is at the bottom). Any idea why this should have suddenly popped up?

No luck with the forced refresh and as far as the java goes host 3 loads up fine.

I am going directly to http://host1.jsettlers.org/index.html and it works for me. You should try this URL. What OS and browser are you running?

I am also in the group of people who are no longer able to use host 1 or 2 as of yesterday. Trying this link still does not work (i.e., I get the little red x in the corner). I also updated to the newest jre as of yesterday with no success either.

I am using WinXP, internet explorer

Fixed, appologies to everyone.

The good news is all 3 servers are on unified code base so host 1 and host 2 will have access to the new board. Hope you guys like it.
