I have Java Settlers version 1.06 from the Sourceforge site and play it often. It's great for travel when I have no net access.

Anyway, this version is quite old and obviously different from the current online version. Is that online version available to be downloaded somewhere so that I can update my old version here?

If not, is there a reason for it not being made available any longer?

Understood, but can it be downloaded for offline play as well?

I don't think there is any plan to release the modifications to the public. The reason is that the modifications made are very specific to the website and in particular accessing the membership tables for the Invision Power Board forum software.

The larger board modification was a patch that is posted at the sourceforge site so that is publicly available and quite easy to apply.
