Can't log on to hosts 1 or 2, won't recognize username Options

I created an account a few days ago and I can log in to the ladder (host 3) without an issue. When I try to log in to host 1 or 2, using the same username, it blocks me saying "No user with the nickname 'princewcheech' is registered with the system."

I am doing something wrong? What's the story?

Try not entering a password on host 1/2. They don't need authentication.

Nothing happens when I do this. Also, how do you start a new game - there only seems to be an option to "join" a game (although this does nothing either).

There is definitely a problem with the system. I have been playing for years and I cannot log on either hosts 1 or 2. I even checked to see that my version of Java was still current and that was fine. This has been a problem for me since Friday and has never been a problem before. It just says "contacting server" but never connects.
